ABOUT ME
My name is Xenia Lazareva. I live and work in Moscow, Russia. I am a self-taught artist but included in the United Register of Professional Artists of Russia (18th–21st centuries) and I am a member of the Professional Union of Artists of Russia.
In my work, I strive to explore the mechanisms that trigger the processes of awakening and transformation within a person. A person develops and improves, gradually adding more light to their attitude towards life. The transition from one state to another is the essence of spiritual development. It is a moment of magic, a transitional state that I illustrate through everyday scenes. Whether it’s a dancer in sunlight or a carved veranda filled with intricate sun patterns, I aim to immerse the viewer in this magic. The ordinariness of the subjects serves as a means to demonstrate the accessibility of sources or triggers for inner transformation—growth; anyone can find tools and methods if they truly desire.
The main theme of my work is an affirmative attitude towards reality, regardless of circumstances. At the center of my pieces is the human figure as an image that reflects and amplifies the influence of light. I am also interested in nostalgic images from childhood or cultural codes in this context.
Materials I Use
I paint atmospheric acrylic paintings in a realistic style and use AR technology to bring them to life. Additionally, I create works in digital format that can be used for commercial purposes or printed as posters for personal use.
